The economic Recession and the housing setback which began in 2007-2008 have led to a long overdue reevaluation of housing design and construction. Many of our custom designs are much more conservative and subdued. Our homes are generally smaller and more practical. A 4000 square foot home is not unusual now. We are enjoying this challenge. We are still designing a few larger family sized homes but the 90s and 2000-2007 McMansions are more scaled down.

This was bound to happen. People have seen this as a wake up call and are rapidly adjusting to it, as are we. The energy scare in the 70s was similar but not as extreme and shorter lived. The expanded need for many more "boomer" empty nester homes is also the new reality which we are embracing in our current designs. Onward and upward.
